  • How do I dispose of used fireworks?
    It is important to dispose of used fireworks safely and responsibly to avoid the risk of accidents or fires. Here are the steps to follow to dispose of used fireworks: Allow the used fireworks to cool down for at least 30 minutes after use. Once the used fireworks have cooled down, pick them up using gloves or tongs and place them in a metal bucket or other non-combustible container. Fill the container with water to fully submerge the used fireworks. Leave the container to soak for at least 24 hours to ensure that the fireworks are fully extinguished. After 24 hours, you can safely dispose of the soaked used fireworks in your household waste bin. It is important to never attempt to dismantle or modify used fireworks, as they may still contain explosive material. Also, never attempt to burn used fireworks or dispose of them in a plastic bag or other combustible material. If you have large amounts of used fireworks or are unsure about how to safely dispose of them, contact your local council for advice.
