Firework Safety
Our Safety Advice
At The Firework Box, we are committed to promoting consumer firework safety. Fireworks are a wonderful way to celebrate special occasions and create unforgettable memories, but they can also be dangerous if not handled properly. Here are some important tips to keep in mind when using fireworks:

-
Always follow the instructions carefully - Every firework product comes with its own set of instructions. It is crucial to read and follow them closely, as failure to do so could result in serious injury or damage.
-
Use fireworks in a safe location - Always use fireworks in a clear, open space, away from buildings, trees, or any other flammable materials. A safe location should also be free from any obstacles that could interfere with the fireworks display.
-
Keep a bucket of water nearby - It is important to have a bucket of water nearby to extinguish any fires that may occur. You should also have a fire extinguisher or hose readily available in case of an emergency.
-
Protect your eyes and ears - Fireworks can cause serious eye and ear injuries, so it is important to wear safety glasses and earplugs when setting off fireworks.
-
Never try to relight a malfunctioning firework - If a firework fails to ignite, do not attempt to relight it. Wait at least 20 minutes and then soak the firework in water before disposing of it.
-
Keep children away from fireworks - Children should never be allowed to handle or light fireworks. Always keep a close eye on children during fireworks displays and ensure that they are at a safe distance.
-
Dispose of fireworks safely - After the fireworks display, dispose of all used fireworks in a bucket of water, away from any flammable materials. Do not attempt to relight or handle any used fireworks.
-
Sparklers - Although these are some of the smallest items we sell, they can be as dangerous as the larger items with over 25 metres safety distance. Always supervise children using sparklers, appointing a responsible adult for oversight. Dress children in snug, non-flammable clothing; avoid loose or flowing fabrics. Put used sparklers in a bucket of water or sand; don’t throw them on the ground.
By following these safety tips, you can enjoy your fireworks display safely and responsibly. Remember, safety should always be your top priority when using fireworks.
